Whether swimming, fishing, canoeing, walking or picnicing, St Georges Lake is a top year round destination.
Originally constructed as a mining dam, this man-made lake once supplied the water to the Creswick State Battery for crushing quartz. Today it is a popular year round base for water activities.
The main picnic area provides free barbecues and toilet facilities. A further picnic area with wood barbecues is located at the inlet creek
A major dam upgrade project at St Georges Lake has recently been completed. The project has been the biggest regional dam upgrade project in Parks Victoria's history.
Some of the major improvements to the park include a brand new earthen fishing wall, a series of lookout platforms on the northern side of the dam, new paths, safety handrails and a great new larger beach area with soft material underfoot.
